Family Heirloom Repaired

ROY BURSON

ROY BURSON

Dear Men,
It is with some shock and a great deal of regret that I have to inform you that Roy died suddenly at his home on Wednesday evening.
Roy was an original member of our Shed at its first ever exploratory meeting at The Royal Oak in 2014 and became and remained our treasurer.
He took a keen interest in all Shed matters and was supportive in all that we did and have achieved over the years.
He kept our finances in excellent order and had only just completed and submitted our annual accounts for 2020 when he died.
Roy had a good sense of humour and forgave my misunderstanding when I asked him to take on the responsibility of treasurer as I understood he had been a bank manager in Africa.  He accepted the challenge but later told me that he had never been a bank manager – he had been sent to Africa to build a bank!
Roy certainly laid the financial foundations that have kept our Shed solvent.
He was a good man and will be missed.  I have sent our condolences to his widow Nikki.
With kind regards,

Henry
